General Motors is no stranger to electric vehicles. A pioneer of EV technology with its EV1 two-seat car in the 1990s, GM later offered one of the first affordable long-range electrics in the Chevrolet Bolt EV. In 2022, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup became the first production EV to use the automaker’s Ultium platform and battery packs. Designed to resemble the discontinued Hummer H2 SUT, which GM modeled on an American military vehicle, the Hummer EV Pickup supplies a substantial electric driving range combined with plenty of off-roading capability and on-road acceleration.
