Buick has used the Regal nameplate since the early 1970s. In 2000, it graced a midsize sedan and signified the sportier and more upscale version of the Buick Century. This fourth-generation Regal even came in a GS (Gran Sport) trim level featuring a supercharged V6 engine. Buick resurrected the Regal as a 2011 model-year midsize sedan based on the Opel Insignia. Designed and engineered in Europe and available with a turbocharged engine and a manual gearbox, the fifth-generation Regal was a sporting addition to Buick’s lineup. A 2018 redesign added two new variants to the Regal lineup: a five-door sportback and a wagon Buick called TourX. Unfortunately, this version only lasted until 2020 before Buick discontinued the model.
