To understand the Acura RLX, rewind to the mid-1980s when Honda introduced its luxury brand. Back then, it offered two vehicles: the Integra and the Legend. In 1996, the flagship Legend coupe and sedan became the 3.5RL sedan, then just the RL sedan, and then the RLX sedan. Offered with front-wheel drive (FWD) or torque-vectoring all-wheel drive (AWD), the RLX was on sale from 2014 to 2020. The FWD models had a 3.5L V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the AWD versions had Acura’s Sport Hybrid powertrain with a 3.0L V6, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and three electric motors. Acura discontinued the RLX after the 2020 model year.
