For 2025, BMW's smallest coupe gains several updates inside to keep the tech and aesthetic fresh. Here's what you need to know about the updated 2025 BMW 2 Series.

2025 BMW 2 Series Design and Interior
At first glance, there's little that differentiates the 2025 2 Series from the 2024 model. Buyers have a wider palette of colors to choose from, including one called Zandvoort Blue, which was previously available only on the M2. There are also new 19-inch wheel designs on offer.
Bigger changes are inside: BMW notably updated its Curved Display — which fuses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen — to run the iDrive 8.5 infotainment system.

Enhanced ambient lighting and a redesigned steering wheel round out the new interior design.
The list of options grows as well. Buyers can now order the 2 Series with open-pore wood interior trim. The M Sport Professional package, which extends the black exterior trim to the grille surrounds, adds a black rear spoiler, and trades the shiny headlight inlays for black ones, remains available for the 230i. You can't get the latter two features on the 2025 M240i.

New 2 Series Performance and Specifications
BMW still offers two models called the 230i and the M240i. The 230i uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the M240i employs a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six rated at 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
These figures are unchanged from 2024. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) and an eight-speed automatic transmission come standard, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. A manual transmission is not available for either model.

2025 2 Series Pricing and On-Sale Date
The 2025 BMW 2 Series hit showrooms in August 2024. The 230i starts at about $40,000 with RWD and $42,000 with xDrive AWD. The M240i carries a base price of about $51,000 with RWD; AWD bumps that figure to $53,000.

What About the M2?
The M2, positioned at the top of the range, also receives updates for 2025. The biggest news is that BMW increased the output of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six to 473 horsepower, up from 453 in the outgoing model.
Torque stays the same, at 406 lb-ft, when the engine is linked to the standard six-speed manual transmission. When paired with the available eight-speed automatic, the inline-six puts out 443 lb-ft of torque.

The M2 is now offered in a wider selection of colors, including Sao Paulo Yellow and Vegas Red Metallic. Black exhaust outlets come standard, and the exterior emblems are now black with a silver border. Inside, the M2 gets the same infotainment and interior updates as the standard 2 Series.
The 2025 M2 went on sale in August 2024. It carries a base price of about $66,000.
